Unfortunately, although there are still lanzones Paete, its production is lesser than it used to be since the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo in Central Luzon in 1991. Since then a lot of lanzones trees were affected because of its volcanic ash and died. That and the widespread development of housing projects replaced the once thriving lanzones lands. Sad.
This season, however, it is nice to see that the lanzones trees that line some lands of Paete are now bearing fruits again, an attraction that we also see thriving in Camiguin.
