Silicon Valley Int’l Invention fest winners call on SF PH Consulate
SAN FRANCISCO – Following their groundbreaking debut at the Silicon Valley International Invention Festival (SVIIF) 2025 held from August 8 – 10 at the Silicon Valley Convention Center in Santa Clara, California, the Philippine delegation paid a courtesy call on Consul General Neil Frank Ferrer last August 11 at the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco.
During the meeting, Filipino inventors showcased their award-winning inventions, shared insights from their experience at the SVIIF, and highlighted their product innovations, market readiness, and aspirations for international expansion. Their showcased inventions included the Unsinkable PortaBoat, a disaster-response watercraft designed for flood-prone and coastal areas; the Sambacur Plus, a natural health supplement formulated as a proprietary blend of Sambong (Blumea balsamifera), Banaba (Lagerstroemia speciosa), Curcumin, and Piperine (the latter two collectively known as PiCUR®); and the Sultana Digital Rice Vendo Machine, an automated rice retailing system aimed at lowering prices and improving food security.
At SVIIF 2025’s awarding ceremony on 10 August, the Philippines earned three Gold Medals, one for each of the above inventions, recognizing their technical merit, originality, and market potential.
Consul General Ferrer commended the delegation for bringing honor to the country, noting that their achievements showcase Filipino creativity, innovation, and competitiveness on the global stage. The meeting concluded with discussions on strengthening linkages with Silicon Valley networks, promoting Philippine-made technologies abroad, and encouraging Filipino-Americans to invest in innovation-driven enterprises back home.
