San Francisco, CA | November 14, 2024 – SFFILM, the organization at the heart of San Francisco’s vibrant film community, has unveiled the honorees for its 2024 Awards Night. The prestigious event, a cornerstone of awards season and a vital fundraiser, will recognize the extraordinary contributions of filmmaker Denis Villeneuve, iconic actress Demi Moore, rising star Malcolm Washington, and director Jason Reitman.
The annual SFFILM Awards Night, slated for Monday, December 9, 2024, at the Gateway Pavilion at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture, serves as both a celebration of cinematic achievement and a fundraiser supporting SFFILM’s mission to discover, nurture, and spotlight emerging filmmakers.
“For 67 years, SFFILM has championed bold voices in film, connecting them with audiences who cherish the shared experience of cinema,” said SFFILM Executive Director Anne Lai. “This event is more than just a celebration—it’s a tribute to the visionaries who inspire the next wave of filmmakers.”

Honorees and Awards
Irving M. Levin Award for Film Direction: Denis Villeneuve
Renowned for his visionary approach to filmmaking, Denis Villeneuve (Dune, Arrival) will receive the Irving M. Levin Award, honoring a master of world cinema. Named after the founder of the San Francisco International Film Festival, this award celebrates transformative contributions to the art of directing.
Maria Manetti Shrem Award for Acting: Demi Moore
Demi Moore of recent The Substance acclaim and a global icon with a luminous career spanning decades, will be honored with the Maria Manetti Shrem Award for Acting. Since 1996, this award has recognized performers who exemplify brilliance, independence, and integrity in their craft.
