Berkeley, CA- Happening on Saturday, May 4th from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM PDT at Berkeley’s Ciel Creative Space is the POC Food & Wine Festival’s signature event: The Main Dish. This gastronomic extravaganza will highlight the extraordinarily creative talents of over 14 diverse chefs alongside 21 beverage brands, promising a vibrant and curated culinary deep-dive into the Bay Area’s intersectional communities.

Spearheaded by Gina Mariko Rosales, a Filipino Japanese American entrepreneur with a passion for community empowerment and celebration, this festival aims to amplify the voices of people of color in the culinary world while fostering economic growth and cultural exchange. Rosales, known for her dynamic approach to event planning and advocacy, has a track record of success in both corporate and nonprofit spheres. Drawing on her experience with UNDISCOVERED SF Filipino Creative Market and a deep commitment to uplifting underrepresented communities, Rosales founded Make it Mariko to create immersive experiences that showcase the beauty of diversity. With the POC Food & Wine Festival, she extends this mission into the realm of food and beverage, offering a platform for local creatives and entrepreneurs to shine.

The festival’s Main Dish event promises an unparalleled gastronomic journey, featuring over 14 diverse chefs and 21 beverage brands. Attendees will indulge in the “Palate Pass” Experience, curated by culinary luminaries such as Tu David Phu from Top Chef Season 15, Monique Feybesse of Tarts de Feybesse, and Nelson German of Sobre Mesa. From soulful creations by Tiana Gee of Soulphil to the bold flavors of Reem Assil’s Reem’s California, each dish tells a story of heritage and innovation.

General admission grants access to a vibrant tapestry of experiences, including live music across two stages, immersive art installations, and opportunities to connect with local artisans at the Art & Retail Marketplace. In addition to the culinary delights included in the ticket price, attendees can explore additional food vendors and enjoy complimentary access to the R&B Soul Lounge, curated by Cuffin All Things R&B Party DJs.

For those seeking an all-encompassing experience, series passes offer access to the Main Dish event and the Brown is Beautiful Afterparty, featuring exclusive performances and VIP amenities. VIP ticket holders will enjoy additional chef tastings, express entry, and access to an exclusive lounge space, ensuring an unforgettable day of indulgence and celebration.

The Main Dish promises to be more than a food and wine festival—it’s a celebration of community, culture, and the joy of sharing diverse meals together.
