The Junior Karter of the Year trophy is given annually by the Golden Wheel Awards, the Philippines’ most prestigious award-giving body.
Ryan Sy was recently honored with the same title won by F1 Academy Champion Bianca Bustamante and the first ever Filipino F4 champion Gabe Tayao. Bustamante is currently based in Europe while Tayao is currently based in the USA.
The coveted title is a culmination of 14-year-old Ryan’s racing skills after winning the Junior Overall Championships in the ROK GP Cup Philippines and Rotax Max Challenge Philippines.
Also competing in the Asian Karting Open Championship (AKOC) last year, Ryan secured a 1st and 2nd during the season opener at Macau. Ryan is slated to fly to France this March and June to undergo an intensive performance assessment and training program.
