In celebration of National Women’s Month in the Philippines, the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco and Parangal invite everyone to the opening of an exhibition titled “Paraluman: A Tribute to the Indigenous Women of the Philippines” — to be held on February 28 (Friday), 3:30 p.m., at the Kalayaan Hall, Philippine Center, 447 Sutter Street, San Francisco.

“Paraluman” is a Filipino term that describes the most beautiful muse, a concept frequently celebrated by artists in 19th century Filipino music and poetry, embodying the essence of an individual who leaves a lasting impact and serves as a source of artistic inspiration.
Curated by Parangal’s Attire Director Jose Rexiel Dela Cruz in collaboration with Filipino culture bearers, the exhibit aims to highlight the artistry and cultural identity of indigenous women in the communities through traditional attire, and to share the stories of cultural masters who take pride in their indigenous heritage.
For those who wish to attend the exhibit opening on February 28th, please RSVP at https://forms.gle/FB6urVkHUYVsSbeo8. The program will include the performance of Parangal.
The Consulate would also like to seek your assistance in spreading the word about the exhibit on social media through these Facebook, X, and Instagram posts.
The exhibit will run from February 28 to March 28 and is free to the public.
