A former member of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy’s Kingdom of Jessus Christ (KOJC) on Monday revealed that former president Rodrigo Duterte and former Davao city mayor and now Vice-president Sara Duterte-Carpio sometimes went to Glory Mountain to pick up several guns from the religious leader.
Testifying before the Senate committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality, a certain “Rene” said he used to work as landscaper at Glory Mountain, site of Quiboloy’s mansion.
“(At) Glory Mountain, whenever Quiboloy arrived (by) chopper, he was carrying several huge bags with different kinds of guns.
“Nilalatag po ito sa tent na katabi po ng mansyon niya,” the Senate panel was told.
“Minsan po pumupunta doon din si former president Rodrigo Duterte at former Davao mayor Sara Duterte.”
It was also reported that when they left Glory Mountain, the Dutertes were already carrying bags loaded with guns.
Meanwhile, the Senate on Monday issued a subpoena ad testificandum to Quiboloy compelling him to attend the Senate hearing into the alleged large scale human trafficking and other crimes committed by the religious leader.
The Senate committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality is also investigating complaints of rape, sexual abuse, violence and child abuse against Quiboloy.
Committee Chairperson Sen. Risa Hontiveros barred Quiboloy’s lawyer Melanio Balayan from testifying on his behalf during the last hearing, noting that only the KOJC leader can answer questions since these are “personal.”
Quiboloy’s subpoena dated February 19, 2024 stated, “you are hereby commanded and requested to appear before the Senate, there and then, to testify under oath on what you know relative to the subject matter under inquiry by the said committee of the said time, date and place herein under indicated — February 19, 2024, Padilla Room, 2nd Senate of the Philippines, Pasay City.
The subpoena was signed by Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri.
Quiboloy has repeatedly stressed he will only attend a hearing in court. He also argued the cases being heard by the Hontiveros committee has already been dismissed by the courts in Davao City.
