The loss marked the first one for the 49ers in the regular season vs. the Rams since the 2018 season.
After making nine appearances in relief over the course of the season, Darnold got his first start for San Francisco with Purdy ruled out of the week 18 game. Staying healthy is the name of the game for the 49ers who are set to host their Divisional Round matchup at some point during the week of January 20th.
