SAN FRANCISCO —  Pomelo and PhilDev Foundation are pleased to announce a collaboration that aims to raise funds for science and engineering scholars in the Philippines.

Pomelo International, the world’s first fintech to combine credit and international money transfer, lives out PhilDev Foundation’s core pillars of Education, Innovation and Entrepreneurship in helping Filipinos connect, grow and thrive.

Pomelo supports PhilDev’s mission is to empower and inspire Filipinos to excel in science and technology. Pomelo wants to send at least three students through engineering school and support the beginnings of their professional journey through this program.

For each PhilDev supporter who signs up for Pomelo (www.pomelo.com/phildev) and sends $100 or more to their loved ones in the Philippines, Pomelo will donate $100 to PhilDev’s scholarship program. This means new users of Pomelo will be doubling the good — making their loved ones happy during the holiday season, while securing a better future for PhilDev’s young scholars.

Maria Banatao, PhilDev Trustee says, “We are grateful to Pomelo, not only for building a technology  company with the Philippines as its first focus, but for recognizing the work of PhilDev in enabling success and development amongst Filipino students and families.”

Ladd Martin, Pomelo’s Chief Marketing Officer says, “When we heard PhilDev’s mission, we knew that our goals were aligned, that innovation in technology and entrepreneurship can improve lives for Filipinos and immigrant communities around the world.”
