SAN FRANCISCO — Philippine Consul General in San Francisco Neil Ferrer met with executives from Amazon Web Services (AWS), Jamie Lim, senior policy global advisor at AWS, and Anthony Lopez, executive assistant to the AWS Vice President of Global Public Policy, to explore potential collaborations that would support the growth of the Philippines’ digital economy.
The meeting, held at the AWS headquarters in Seattle, Washington, was also attended by Philippine Tourism Director Marie Soleil Tropicales and Economic Assistant Jennifer Sto. Domingo.
Consul General Neil Frank Ferrer thanked AWS for its continued presence and investment in the Philippines. “We greatly appreciate AWS’ commitment to the country,” he said.
“Investments in the Philippines’ digital infrastructure, such as those made by hyperscalers like Amazon, are welcome.”
AWS highlighted its dedication to skilling the Philippine workforce through programs like AWS re/Start and partnerships with local universities. The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to continued dialogue and collaboration, recognizing the immense potential for mutual benefit.
