The Dagupeno’s Charitable Foundation International, Inc. dinner dance last April 27 at Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport was a huge success. It was a big event graced by stellar guests.
Among the glitterati were David Lee, who is running for California State Assembly; Pamela DiGiovanni, Daly City Council; Daly City Commissioner and President of Ageless Group, Dorie Paniza and husband Lamberto; Buri-Buri Fil-Am Seniors Association President Rory Clark; UPAI President Alvin Padilla and wife Marita. More than 300 attendees and supporters from various organizations were also present.
A sumptuous dinner was served and the live band made the guests dance the night away.
But the highlight of the evening was the crowning of Mrs. Dagupenos 2024-2025 — Her Majesty Queen Marilou “Malou” Manaois Panlaqui. Manila-born and Dagupan City raised in Alcala, Pangasinan by her grandmother. She came back to Manila with her family and pursued her studies in her third year in high school. She graduated from La Concordia College with a bachelor’s degree in nursing.
She is the second youngest of four siblings. Married, divorced, now single and blessed with one beautiful daughter with two grandsons. She exudes the spirit of hard work, kind heart, generosity, dependability and independence.
A nurse in the Philippines, presently, she is an investor for New Era Home Renovators. She also helps in her daughter’s family business, Medical Spa (Skinlicious Laser and Aesthetics) in San Bruno, CA.
She joined Dagupenos because of their mission of charity and her passion to serve the underprivileged and disadvantaged. She has been doing charity work missions since 2018 and was actively involved with the Makati Rotary Club and Apila ng Bayan in the Philippines. She believes in the Dagupenos Charitable Foundation’s goals for the benefit of poor but deserving college students in the Philippines and in the US.
The reigning Queen said, “Mrs. Dagupenos, Queen Arlene Castillo Fernandez, thank you so much for your support, such a privilege to meet you. Thank you, President Rene Tayaba Llamas and First Lady, Vangie Alindada Llamas, Executive Director of Social Events, for the support and to all members and committees involved in this event.”
“I am ultimately proud and honored to be crowned Dagupenos Queen 2024-2025 and given the opportunity to help contribute to DCF Intl., Inc. From the bottom of my heart, I am very thankful to my friends (The Honey-bees) and those people who supported me.”
