A lot have changed since the arrival of the smartphones. Reasons why the smartphone is the number one thing that people can’t live or leave home without.
But how was life before the birth of the smartphones? Throwback time!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Your loved ones’ —and even friends and bosses’ — birthdays are ingrained in your memory. You don’t need Facebook to remind you that it’s your mom’s birthday — and plan an event on fb.
BONDING MOMENT. When you get together with friends or relatives, nonstop chitchat, laughter, banter, singing, or just plain catching-up is the norm. No one is busy looking down at their phones that ruin the momentum of being happy together, as if people don’t exist.
SWEET NOTHINGS. You say what’s in your heart personally. You let your ‘babe’ feel your sincerity. No wrong send of “I love you” to another person because you accidentally tap on the wrong name.
BREAK IT TO ME GENTLY. When you both know that your relationship is coming to an end, you exert effort to talk it out face to face, seriously. No texting of, “Let’s call it quits; it’s not you. It’s me.” And that’s it.
PLAYTIME. There’s always time for traditional outdoor play — hide and seek, tumbang preso, luksong tinik, patintero, sipa, piko. It’s like doing some cardio exercises that keep one healthy. Not suffer with nerve pain, muscle tightness or spasms, thumb arthritis, obesity, and other health issues caused by playing online games nonstop.
PICTURE, PICTURE! Smile! Click! After a week, you get hard copies of your photos. And you paste them in the photo album. No need to pay for a stable internet connection to check or look at the photos on fb or iOS album.
FOCUSED. Concentrated on the things, work, or chores that you do. You don’t burn your rice or forget to unplug your iron because someone calls to spread some juicy news.
Before the arrival of the smartphones, I did my articles using the typewriter. Guess what gadget I use doing this feature?
