SAN FRANCISCO, California (July 22, 2024) –  On its sixth year, PHTimeIsNow, the annual conference that connects Global Filipino Trailblazers will move from The Harvard Club of New York to the Banatao Institute at University of California – Berkeley which was named to honor the valuable contributions of Dado and Maria Banatao and family. The academic building in the engineering department of the #1 Public University in the world, will be the setting for #PHTimeIsNow2024, an event dedicated to building and connecting global Filipino changemakers, mentors, and trailblazers with the next generation of leaders. Launched in 2018, #PHTimeIsNow the event series aspires to inspire fellow Filipinos to help one another in their personal and professional journeys.

Through the theme, “Building Bridges, Connecting Communities,” the speaker series  event will underscore the importance of fostering unity and collaboration among Filipinos. This year, #PHTimeIsNow will feature a dynamic lineup of speakers whose individual experiences and anecdotal insights will hopefully encourage attendees to go beyond their limits and move the needle for themselves and for others.

Happening on October 24, 2024, Thursday at 10am to 5pm,  #PHTimeIsNow2024 will be hosted by Emmy-nominated broadcast journalist Ginger Conejero Saab, an anchor on NBC News Bay Area, and will feature the following activities.

  • Impactful storytelling by today’s prominent Filipino pioneers 
  • Mentorship sessions for passionate students and professionals
  • Networking opportunities with potential collaborators   
  • #PHNow  – a curated trunk show celebrating Filipino creativity and craftsmanship

To connect with one another is the most precious thing and hopefully, in this gathering, we can build bridges and connect communities that can last through the years and even a lifetime,” said Carissa Villacorta, founder and creator of #PHTimeIsNow. “All of us are trying to uplift others and the community while carrying on our own and our one #GlobalFilipinoJourney. Being here is being there for one another.
