VALLEJO, Calif. – On Thursday, Oct. 10, Vallejo City Unified School District Superintendent Rubén Aurelio and Board President Latyna Young had the privilege of attending the Asian Pacific American Bar Association (APABA) of Solano County’s Annual Dinner, where Jesse Bethel High School Law Academy students were celebrated for their exceptional achievements.
After a keynote address by Adam W. Hofmann, Deputy Judicial Appointments Secretary from the Office of Governor Gavin Newsom, four outstanding seniors—Samara Garcia Vasquez, Charlie Normington, Carla Oxlaj, and Joselin Villanueva—were awarded scholarships in recognition of their hard work and dedication. Additionally, two talented juniors served as emcees for the evening.
“The achievements of our Jesse Bethel High School Law Academy students at the APABA Annual Dinner are a testament to their hard work, dedication, and passion for a career in law,” said Aurelio. “We are incredibly proud of Samara, Charlie, Carla, and Joselin for earning these scholarships and their commitment to academic excellence. Seeing our juniors stepping up as event emcees was also inspiring, demonstrating their leadership skills. This recognition is a proud moment for our students and our entire school community.”
