San Francisco: The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco recently announced for FilAm communities in its jurisdiction that the 2025 IMPACT! Program for Filipino Americans has begun accepting applications. The nine-week development program will run from 2 June to 1 August 2025. It was specially created by USAI and the Philippine Embassy in Washington, D.C.
The program is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for young Filipino American adults to gain a first-hand look at the U.S. government and political system in Washington, D.C., and reflect on the role they, as future leaders, might play in strengthening Philippines-U.S. relations.
2025 IMPACT! is open to all U.S. or dual U.S./Philippine citizens, aged 18 to 25 years old, and enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student with good academic standing. They must also possess leadership ability and good interpersonal skills, have a record of community service, and be fluent in written and spoken English.
Selected participants will receive the “Filipino American Youth Political Leadership Award” with a US$2,000 stipend. However, students will be responsible for all expenses which will be incurred including travel, housing (inexpensive housing options are available at the suggestion of USAI), and food. After acceptance in the program, all participants are required to produce proof of insurance, and sign a waiver of liability.
The application form may be accessed through the link: https://tinyurl.com/34xz6872. The deadline for the submission applications is on 31 January 2025.
