Let’s highlight economic empowerment advocacies this week. At the San Francisco Filipino American Chamber of Commerce (SFFilAmChamber.org), a non-profit organization, we are dedicated to promoting the growth and success of Filipino American businesses in the San Francisco Bay Area. 50-year-old SFFACC is the founding chamber that formed the Federation of Philippine American Chambers of Commerce.

The San Francisco Small Business Week (SFSBW) is celebrated from May 6 to May 10, 2024. There will be many events you can attend. See https://www.sfsmallbusinessweek.com/.

SAVE THE DATE! For SFSBW, the San Francisco Filipino American Chamber of Commerce will be hosting an in-person event on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, “AI (Artificial Intelligence) Tools for Business Owners.” There will be three resource speakers during this 90-minute workshop on the following topics: (1) AI outreach can get you more leads; (2) Use AI grant writing bots to go after funding; and (3) Get your time back with Process Automation. This workshop is designed for entrepreneurs and business owners, especially members of a local chamber, a community-based organization or non-profit, or a merchants association. See event invitation on the event calendar below. For information about sponsorships, contact [email protected], attention: Aaron Orcino, president.

Another update is that SFFACC is getting ready to provide more resources for our Filipino community in protecting ourselves and our businesses from dangers online, a.k.a. cybercrimes. According to the FBI, American consumers and businesses lost $12.5 billion to internet crimes in 2023, a 22% increase from 2022. Practical guidance will soon be available at the SFFilAmChamber.org website on how to respond to cybersecurity incidents as well as available local and regional FBI resources.
