Calling all South Bay foodies! The luxuriously iconic Westfield Valley Fair will proudly become the can’t-miss culinary destination from August 7-13 for their inaugural Foodie Week– a delectable 7 days devoted to uplifting and supporting the refined shopping center’s many food vendors and local businesses. This is a fantastic opportunity to not only visit the mall for some retail therapy, but also properly refuel from it while getting to know the vendors that amplify the positive energy of the center.
The SF Bay Area is home to large AAPI communities that all love to unwind in style at Westfield Valley Fair while dining with authentic tastes of their cultures’ cuisines. Below is our curated agenda for a day of sampling the participating AAPI businesses while celebrating Foodie Week’s exciting first year.
Start with Sweet Treats at Hello Kitty Cafe

Located on the 2nd floor’s south end, the Hello Kitty Cafe launched in summer 2025 and is an adorable must-visit for both children and adults alike! Enthusiasts of the popular Japanese cartoon will enjoy not only the cutesy coquette interior, but also the sweet offerings that complete the pastel pink cornerstone experience. This is a great way to begin your day with a light and dainty treat.
Lunch at the center’s Asian Food Collection for Pan-Asian tastings
After burning off your sweet treats with some shopping, the best way to sample all of the AAPI eateries in this luxuriously massive complex is with the food court’s Asian food collection. Stop by the second floor food court and be entranced by the savory scents, friendly smiles, and chic lounge-style decor. We recommend KoJa Kitchen, Ruby Thai, and Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks!
Happy Hour drinks at Alamo Drafthouse

What’s a day of dining without some libations to wash it all down? And in a refined and creative atmosphere! Alamo Drafthouse is a theatre that serves hearty food and craft cocktails as you enjoy your film, and in their Bar Odo, you can imbibe even if you’re not a film buff. The swanky bar is Godzilla-themed, decked out in classy, yet playful aesthetic, all to evoke the classic 1950s cinematic feel to ensure you’re the main character here.
Dinner at Baekjeong for Korean BBQ

Have dinner in style! Meaning “butcher” in Korean, Baekjeong is a highly popular BBQ experience with locations all over California, with San Jose as its latest! Simply head outside and upstairs for a stunning panoramic view, quick and kind service, and of course, the most luxurious cuts of meat. This is truly a glamorously elevated hands-on dining experience that still feels intimate, relaxed, and efficient without ever feeling too rowdy or overwhelming.
An Innovative Dessert Nightcap at Salt & Straw

Last but certainly not least, there’s always room for a final sweet treat for the road! Refuel after a long day of shopping and walking around with refreshing ice cream at Salt & Straw. This innovative creamery is beloved for their wildly experimental flavors like Tomato Gelato with Olive Brittle, or Melon and Prosciutto! They are not afraid to push the boundaries of what you would expect to taste frozen, often incorporating savory ingredients, particularly with global inspirations, like miso, yuzu, and mango.
With this jam-packed culinary agenda, you’ll have a full day of eating and celebrating AAPI culture at the mall that you may even forget about shopping altogether!
