NEW ORLEANS, LA- The Kansas City Chiefs sought to become the first team ever to win three-straight titles in the Super Bowl era but lost convincingly to the Philadelphia Eagles.
It was a miserable night for Patrick Mahomes who was sacked six times and with three turnovers, the Chief’s hope of becoming the first team in Super Bowl history to three-peat went up in smoke.
Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was named the game MVP player, throwing for 221 yards with two touchdowns and an interception, and rushing for 72 yards and a touchdown.
Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw for 257 yards but too late when all of his touchdown passes came after the Chiefs trailed 34-0.
The final seconds ticked off the Superdome with the Eagles taking home their second Super Bowl trophy.
The Eagles dumped the traditional cooler of Gatorade on coach Sirianni as the clock ticked inevitably to an Eagles victory.
