As we close 2024 and welcome 2025, let us reflect on the year past and celebrate the new year with the Yin and the Yang that influence health and order within us as an individual, society, and the entire universe.
Yin and Yang are two concepts in Chinese philisophy that represent two sets of qualities or characteristics. They are different yet equal in each other, like two opposite halves of a coin. Know if you are a Yin or a Yang in the Chinese Animal sign:

Rabbit – Yin

Snake – Yang
Horse – Yang
Sheep – Yang
Monkey – Yin
Rooster – Yang

What/who is Yin? According to the Chinese, Yin people are group oriented. They are always after other people’s personal well-being. They are also very family-oriented (group in itself) with close ties to relatives, friends, and colleagues. Self-confident and extroverted, Yin people would be the first to organize community events, company parties, feasts, holidays, parades, field trips, even weddings! Characteristically open, Yin people take active part in the world around them. They are also interested in politics.
Although the Yin people are people-oriented, they tend to have quite a serious demeanor. You won’t see them smiling a lot. They are a serious people who crave success which is probably why they are all about efficiency. They want themselves and everyone around them to be always competent. They are also not the spiritual type and they tend to be materialistic. But the good news is that the Yin people typically enjoy good health and long life.
What/who is Yang? While Yin people are sociable and group oriented, Yang people are typically loners but not necessarily lonely. Independent and individualistic, Yang people tend to be solitary. They are also quite meditative and spiritual.
The Yang people seem fragile and of delicate health. Friends and associates value their objective views. Despite the tendency to be loners, Yang people have a happy and positive outlook in life. They smile a lot probably because they are more in touch with their inner selves and are quite at peace with who they are. Yang people are nature lovers and they love activities that bring them closer to nature and self discovery.
Yang people are not materialistic. They like individual activities such as reading books, gardening, enjoying music or long walks. They do not like following orders from a group and actually often find ways to avoid following chains of command and such. They can be quite antisocial at times. Private and introverted, the Yang value peace and balance from within.
Are you a Yin or a Yang? But whether you’re a Yin or a Yang, always remember that we special as a person.
