SANTA CLARA — The 49ers beat the cowboys, 30-24 on Sunday Night Football in a game
That both teams desperately wanted to win.
The San Francisco 49ers were expected to be one of the most formidable Super Bowl this season. Instead, it has been a roller coaster ride until their victory over Dallas in week 8.
But on the third, the 49ers scored 21 points in a play by tight end George Kittle while preventing Dallas from scoring, then jump to a 27-10 lead that lasted until eight minutes remained in the fourth quarter.
For the second time in two offensive drives, Cee Dee Lamb ended up wide open in the end zone at the Cowboys possession. Two 49ers defensive back ran into each other. And for the second straight possession, Dak Prescott passed him a touchdown.
Dallas rallied from a 17-point deficit in the fourth quarter opening up a chance with three minutes to go but Dak Prescott threw four straight incomplete passes on their final possession.
San Francisco moves up to 4-4 while the Cowboys fall to 3-4.
