SANTA CLARA — After a three-game losing streak featured his five interceptions of the season, Purdy was hot for the second straight week on Sunday in a 27-14 San Francisco 49ers win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The 49ers pass rush continued to operate in high gear for the second-straight week, generating two sacks and a turnover in the first half.
Purdy’s first touchdown had McCaffrey break free from man coverage on a misdirection play in the red zone. His third to Kittle saw Purdy find his tight end in the back of the end zone to extend San Francisco’s lead to 27-7.
While Deebo Samuel didn’t find the end zone, he made his impact with 40 yard catch on a second-and-14 conversion after Purdy broke free from pressure. That helped set up Kittle’s touchdown.
San Francisco is now 7-3 with the win to be in Division first place.
