SANTA CLARA — In the first half, Brock Purdy completed 16 of 18 passes for 258 yards with two touchdowns. He finished the game connecting on 20 of 25 passes for 325 yards.
The 49ers offense was led by tight end George Kittle, who had six receptions for 151 yards. Jauan Jennings caught seven passes for 90 yards and two touchdowns.
The 49ers increased their lead to 14-0 on Isaac Guerendo’s 1-yard touchdown run with 1:39 left in the first quarter. Guerendo, a rookie fourth-round pick, made his first NFL start Sunday, after Christian McCafferey and Jordan Mason sustained season ending injuries last December 15 in a loss to the Buffalo Bills.
San Francisco extended its lead to 21-0 on Purdy’s 16-yard TD pass to Jennings midway through the second quarter and made it 24-0 on Jake Moody’s 23-yard field goal with 1:50 left in the first half.
After the Bears closed the gap to 24-6, the 49ers increased their lead to 38-13 with running back Patrick Taylor’s 3-yard TD run with 5:15 to play.
