Three Malaysian nationals, one of them with a cellphone screenshot of anti-government slogans like “BBM Resign,” “Stop KOJC Injustices,” and “AFP/PNP Protect the People” were barred from entering the Philippines, reported on September 1 by the Bureau of Immigration (BI).
Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco said the three: Jessica Lynn Henry, Mimielianna Annie Anak Leesoi, and Andrijosebaul Anak Garra, were ordered to board a flight back to Malaysia last August 28. He said the three claimed to be members of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) led by Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.
In their incident report, the BI supervisors who interviewed the Malaysians said the passengers said they were going to Davao City at the invitation of the KOJC.
However, they failed to show any proof of their financial capacity to support their stay in the country, admitting they are unemployed.
During an interview one of them accidentally showed the BI supervisor Excell screenshots of various anti- government slogans.
When asked to explain the screenshots, the passenger said she accidentally downloaded them from her Facebook/Messenger page.
The Malaysians have been placed in the Immigration blacklist and banned from entering the country.
Tansingco said the Malaysians, all in their mid-20s, with a group of Filipinos, arrived at NAIA Terminal 1, on the evening of August 27 via PAL flight from Kuala Lumpur.
They presented themselves as KOJC members but their Filipino companions later “abandoned” them after they were detained for further immigration inspection.
“Our Immigration officers discovered their intent to participate in anti-government demonstrations being staged by KOJC members who are protesting the ongoing manhunt for Pastor Quiboloy,” Tansingco said.
He stressed that “foreigners have no business interfering in the country’s internal political affairs, thus aliens who join these protest actions can be expelled for violating our Immigration laws and for being undesirable aliens.”
