WASHINGTON, DC – US Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren (CA-18) recently announced that the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will distribute $1,385,217 to the San Benito Health Foundation.
“Federally Qualified Health Centers, like the San Benito Health Foundation, serve as lifelines for many in our communities. In San Benito County, the health care landscape is particularly fragile, and I am relieved federal funding is continuing to be allocated that helps ensure access to affordable care locally. I will continue working to help sustain and expand care options for all of our neighbors in CA-18,” said Lofgren. This funding comes from HHS’s Health Center Program, which is overseen by the Health Resources and Services Administration, to support community-based and patient-directed nonprofit organizations that provide primary and preventive health care services to underserved populations in the U.S. The funding was included in the FY24 consolidated appropriations package, which Rep. Lofgren voted in favor of. In April 2024, Rep. Lofgren also announced another tranche of nearly $1.4 million in federal funding for the San Benito Health Foundation.
